Kata Beach in Phuket

Posted by: Phuket Rentals In: General Phuket

Looking for a best place in Phuket, you can drive few minutes on south from Karon beach, and charm yourself with pleasant bay of Kata. Clear waters and white sands will welcome you with palm lined on beach, giving a spectacular sight. A lot of accommodation options are available for you with popular restaurants and raucous nightlife. To catch the waves in bloom, visit here from May to October, or watch the beach alive with sun-seekers if you visit here from November to April.

Kata Center and Kata South are two main focal areas. Kata Center is the northern end near Karon and Kata south inhabits lovely resorts, several shops, mini marts, and fashion stores. Many souvenir shops are opened in early afternoon till late night, as people enjoy the beach for the whole day, instead of shopping. In Northern Kata, when you go up the main street opposite Marina Phuket Resort, many shops can be seen offering valises, handicrafts, travel bags, DVDs, CDs, sports T-shirts, and hobby items. For relaxed shopping, Kata beach is an ideal place due to its less seedy atmosphere and compactness.

Kata beach is famous for its golden sand, and most popular destination for sun soaking in Phuket. During November to April period, you can enjoy the calmness of warm ocean which is plain and crystal clear in the season of north east monsoon. Inversely, May to October period offer waves in action for rough swimming in the south-west monsoon season.

When water becomes silent in the late year, the sea is stormed by hundreds of yachts from all over the place. This is the time of King’s Cup Regatta in December, a major sailing event of Asia.

In Kata village the dining options are marvelous. You can find local noodles shops, Bluefin Tavern, delicious Tex-Mex, La Luna Italian restaurant, Café del Mar, and many bar restaurants with music, TV, pools, and sports.

Dinopark is one of the most famous attractions of Kata which is found on the narrow street leading to Karon Beach road. It is basically a mini-golf but offers a variety of attractions. It presents an artificial mini volcano which gives an eruption show after every hour. There are a couple of artificial dinosaurs which make sounds. Many of such effects are offered with full glory in the evening, though Dinopark is also opened the day long. There is also a bar there, known as Dino Bar. It is considered as landmark as all the show can be enjoyed from here while enjoying drinks in a cave and jungle like setting.

Near Dinopark is Marina cottage where you can find a classic Thai seafood restaurant. At Marina Cottage, hotels are present with attractive offers like dinner and Thai classical dance inside a traditionally made Thai house.

The Taina Road is considered as the heart of Kata village. It runs from the beach to the parallel road and back. There are many restaurants, pubs, local shops, bars, and dive shops lined up on this road. A bar named Easyriders here offers live music with resident live bands belting out hard rockin’ blues almost every evening.
