Phuket Thailand: Always Worth a Visit

Posted by: vanalli In: General Phuket

Phuket is the biggest island of Thailand located on the Andaman Sea. The island shows loads of variations, when it comes to topography. There are mountain ranges in the west of the island known as the Phuket Mountain Range and as all of us know that Phuket presents some of the finest beaches in the world. Phuket Thailand has got clubs, bars, great restaurants, sports and many other attractions. All these tempting features make Phuket a perfect holiday destination. However, the question, which frequently arises in mind, is it wise to choose Phuket while you are relocating? Well, the answer is yes and here’s presenting few reasons supporting the answer:

Expenditure for accommodation: The accommodation cost in Phuket Thailand is far lesser than many important countries. Contrary to the popular belief that staying in Phuket is expensive, Phuket offers cheap small apartments at a rate of 5,000 baht a month. The big lavish houses are, however, very costly. There are several affordable guest houses in Phuket town available at less than 500 baht per day. So there are plenty of accommodation facilities to fit your budget in Phuket.

Transportation: Phuket has got good transportation facilities. Though there is no rail-line in Phuket Thailand, trains halts till a nearby station Surat Thani. Songthaews, the passenger pick-up vehicles are the cheapest mode of transportation for traveling between the beaches and towns. Bus, motorbike and taxi services are always available. To the north of Phuket is the Phuket International Airport with scheduled domestic and international flights.

Availability of jobs: Phuket poses a handful of jobs in various fields like property business, schools, publishing houses, tourism, tin-mining, rubber-tree plantations, hotels and restaurants.

Entertainment: Living in Phuket guarantees total entertainment. Phuket Thailand is popular for its night life. There are clubs, bars and restaurants in Patong. Ardent beach lovers find great bliss in beaches like Kata, Karon and Yanui. There are many festivals happening there all round the year like The Vegetarian Festival, Phuket Travel Fair and many more. There are added attractions like diving, golf, shooting ranges etc. Many shopping malls are there where shopoholics can indulge.

So, as you can see, Phuket has got a lot of factors that makes it a considerably good place for settling down. People planning to stay in Thailand always prefers Bangkok over Phuket because it’s assumed to have a cheaper lifestyle, but Phuket offers a bagful of options to fit your budget. If you are careful about the “spending part” in Phuket, you can enjoy living in this tropical island, enjoying the scenic beauty and spending the same as that of same as that of Bangkok. Give Phuket Thailand a chance; it will make you fall in love with it.

Thailand has been attracting tourist attention for a long time now. It is one of the most celebrated tourist destinations of today’s times. The island of Phuket is one of the most frequented tourist haunts of Thailand. The long stretching beaches and the scenic beauty of Phuket provide for a perfect soak in the sun experience. Amongst the most crowded beaches of the island is the beach of Patong.

Patong Beach
is the most crowded and noisiest place in the entire island. This is because a large number of tourists, who visit Phuket, use the beach as their base to live in while they explore the rest of the island. One reason for this concentration of tourists on this beach is the easy access to all the facilities. All the facilities required by the tourists are available in Patong Beach for very cheap.

The large number of tourists visiting Patong Beach every single day has a very damaging effect on the natural beauty of the beach. The stretch of the beach is forever crowded and always buzzing with activities of the tourists as well as the local hawkers. The popularity of Patong Beach has thus led to its losing the charm. However, there are other beaches like the Mai Khao beach, the Nai Yang beach and others, which are less crowded and cleaner than the one in consideration. Again, these serene beaches are not very far away from its area.

As far as the accommodation goes, the options available in Patong Beach area are as varied as chalk and cheese. For backpackers, there are hostels and guesthouses that fit the shoestring budgets of these travelers. Obviously, they have to make a few compromises in these modest settlements, but these places are the best you can get at that kind of a price. However, for people, who do not have a problem in splurging on themselves, there are the high end hotels of Patong Beach, which promise luxury in the purest form of the word.

Patong Beach area is lively all throughout the night. The nightlife in this area is unmatched by any of the other places in Thailand. You can come across rows of bars and clubs. These places are all distinct from each other; this makes it very convenient for the tourists to choose the place that suits their needs. Patong Beach has party options for music lovers as well as party animals.

Phuket beaches comprise many riches

Posted by: vanalli In: General Phuket

Thailand consists of many islands of different sizes, shapes, values, traditions and developments. The marvel of the locations, atmosphere and distribution is spell bounding and awe-inspiring. Every year thousands of tourists gather to catch a glimpse of these enigmatic islands like Samui, Samet, Chang, Pha-ngan and most importantly Phuket. The Phuket beaches continue to catch the eye with its inexplicable charm and environment.

To start with, none other than the Phuket beaches, you must know that the mystery of its popularity is for a large number of factors mainly relating to the diversity of its constituting beaches, sizes, natural site scenes and the essence of tranquility.

The Patong beach has the maximum mass appeal with its rich nightlife, shops, bars and coffee houses. Patong is situated on the western central coast with economic and smooth access throughout the entire beach.

The Kata and Karon beach towards the south of Patong are more alluring in terms of sight scenes with vast stretches of sands and remarkably clear waters.

One of the most fascinating Phuket beaches is the Mai Khao. It is a tourist’s fascination due to its isolation, liberty of space, lack of pandemonium and meagre population. This venue can become a heavenly abode without discord and disturbances with development being the only disadvantage.

Towards the south of Mai Khao is the Nai Yang beach, which adds up in the list of the beautiful Phuket beaches. The Nai Yang has the added facilities of shopping, trading and other basic amenities as compared to Mai Khao. In addition, this venue also provides much scope to leisure activities like scuba diving and parasailing.

Another glorious venue is the Nai Harn beach with its unique location and wonderful scenery. The locals and the tourism experts do not fail to visit this place at the weekends.

Laem Sing beach is a name not mostly heard, but also adds up to the list of beautiful Phuket beaches. Here, you can particularly enjoy the moderate sun baths during the long lethargic afternoons throughout its vast sandy coast lines, which soothes the mind and the heart. This venue also provides ample scope for the famous musical parties throughout the night.

So, friends I earnestly hope that you are now well prepared with adequate knowledge to pay homage to Asia’s wonderland.

When Is The Best Time To Visit Phuket?

Posted by: vanalli In: General Phuket

If you are thinking about when to visit Phuket, there are a number of things to take into account. The best time to visit the island would change with what exactly it is, which you are after from a holiday. During the three most exciting times of year to visit Phuket, you could end up having the biggest waterfight of your life, sitting on a secluded beach watching the stars and fireworks or seeing a parade of people with swords and knives through their cheeks.

Songkran, the Thai New Year, was originally a time for prayer and the purification of sins. This was in the form of water being splashed gently down people’s shoulders in the street. Now, it has evolved into the biggest waterfight in the world. It takes place all over Phuket, but is especially fun in the island where the tourist influence has magnified the significance of the purification powers of the water.

Hat Patong is the beach where the action is the wildest, but going out into the streets anywhere during your visit to Phuket on the 13th to the 15th of April is a mistake, if you do not like getting wet. The streets will be lined with people armed with waterguns, waterhoses or buckets filled with water, all intent on getting you wet for your sins.

The Phuket Vegetarian Festival was started by the large Chinese minority on Phuket and is a time where they voluntarily abstain from eating meat for a week. It is also a really weird time when men and women walk around the streets in a trance with lots of objects piercing through their cheeks. There are needles, swords, spears, knives or any type of sharp instrument used by them. It occurs every October. There is also fire-walking and other carnival like displays during the event. You will find that most of the restaurants have taken meat off the menu. If you plan to visit Phuket during this time of the year, make sure to go to the Chinese temples for seeing the ceremonies and other parades that will happen. Shephan Hin is where the ceremonies climax is held. There is a huge firework display for everyone.

The Chinese New Year is also a good time to visit Phuket. The large Chinese minority celebrates it almost as hard as they do on the mainland. This event happens in February. The best place to go during the New Year is the Patong Beach. The street sellers sell large amounts of fireworks to everyone and the sky is lit up brighter than the 4th of July in US. There is nothing better then sitting on a beach watching the sky explode with fireworks.

Phuket travel: The best form of indulgence

Posted by: vanalli In: General Phuket

Phuket is undoubtedly one of the most breath taking islands of the world. It also happens to be the biggest amongst all of Thailand’s islands. Phuket travel is an assurance of a fabulous time provided you have a brief knowledge of the place. It is advised that you collect some data about the island before you decide to come here.

Phuket travel is one of the activities that will end up eating most of your money. The taxis in this island are highly priced and the local Tuk-tuks are not a cheap alternative either. The motorcycle taxis are very commonly used, as they are comparatively more affordable. If you have to be traveling in the night, you will have to end up splurging on a taxi. However, during day time, you can take a bus, which is cheap and convenient.

People of Phuket can speak English, but to a very little extent. You might have a little difficulty trying to make sense of what they say. Even though the young people of Phuket manage to converse well in English, the older locals have a tough time in carrying out this task. This is the reason why you must always walk up to a young local, if you need help with directions on this island.

While traveling in Phuket, you will have to make use of the local currency here, which is the Thai Baht. This form of currency is very easy to obtain at the money exchangers that can be found in every corner of the island. While exchanging your currency with these money exchangers, make sure you know what the current rate is so that you know you are not being fooled. If you don’t have enough cash, you can also withdraw money from the ATMs spread all over the place. The use of credit cards in order to withdraw money from these ATMs is also a common practice.

Shopping is an integral part of Phuket travel. For street shopping, you have to be good at bargaining, which will get you all the stuff at a very cheap price. However, while shopping at high-end stores, you can give rest to your bargaining skills.

If talking to your loved ones back home is on your mind, you can simply buy a new SIM card from the local 7-Eleven branches, which can be found all over Phuket. These SIM cards are cheap and their call rates are cheaper than the SIM you are carrying. If you sun out of credit on these newly bought SIMs, 7 Eleven also has a provision for you to buy extra credit.

Phuket travel is undoubtedly a very fun-filled and thrilling experience.

Getting used to Phuket bar girls

Posted by: vanalli In: General Phuket

Apart from the elephants, scenic landmarks and famous tourist spots, Thailand runs a major sex business in the continent. Many male tourists, within the age group of 21-50, visit Thailand for this solitary reason. It might seem to be a little uncivilized for you, but that’s the way it is. Speaking of which, prostitution as such is prohibited in Thailand, however, it does not make much of a difference here. In Phuket, you can find such girls in any bar of Patong, which happens to be the capital of the sex racket of the island. For some, it may sound like heaven, while for others it might turn to be a hell on earth.

There are no crooked or indirect workings with the Patong bar girls here in Patong. To be precise, a person comes to a bar in Patong, finds a girl of his liking; he places an offer, and strikes the deal for a few hours or for an entire day, depending on the money he is ready to spend. Girls here are ready for a jiffy romp to overnight stays at the customer’s hotel. Lovely, isn’t it?

You will never find it difficult to find these bar girls in Phuket; technically, they are everywhere. You will find many at the beer bars of Soi Bangla. There are rows of beer bars in this place, with flocks of bar girls serving beer and drinks and striking conversations with customers. It is a game of confidence, as the girls talk to you in a very soft way and woe you with their gestures, trying to grab your attention at every chance possible.

However, beware of girls who would want you to buy them a drink, because these ‘lady drinks’ are typically overpriced. Many girls, who are actually hustlers, drive you into a game of Connect 4 to get the unavoidable drink at some point of the game.

Those girls who work as waiters at the bar can escort the customers only if he pays a differential amount to the bar to give the girl a night off. However, there is still the main transaction for the girl to be made, which may range between 1000 to 3000 Baht. If the situation demands, the fee may hike to 5000 Baht also, as nothing is fixed in such markets.

You may come across a lot of prostitutes at the discos of Patong too. Nevertheless, you must not approach every girl who seems to be partying out there. There are instances when a drunken tourist goes to a girl and panicked her by asking “how much?”

In Soi Bangla, you will find the so called ‘freelance’ prostitutes, whose numbers are also very profound. They are not bound to any bars and strike deals on their own.

Entertainment in Phuket

Posted by: vanalli In: General Phuket

If you are planning to spend your holidays at a place which is having a dazzling waterfall with beautiful scenery, luxurious hotels, swimming pools, world class cuisine, sandy beaches roofed with palm trees, entertaining nightlife, beer bars and disco clubs, you will definitely choose Patong, which is one of the famous beach resorts of Phuket Island in Thailand.

Surrounded by Andaman Sea, this place is an amazing and sensational tourist resort that is famous for its nightlife. The night clubs are there in every street and are crowded with local people as well as the foreigners who are in a mood of play and party. You can enjoy live music, romantic atmosphere with the warm welcoming pretty Phuket girls that make your time memorable.

The dance floors keep you rocking whole night. Several brands of whisky and beers are available for toast on demand. Just buy your bottle and find a corner in the bar and have a nice and lively time with your favorite girl. The nights are longer so you do not have to worry about any thing else.

Another unique attraction in Patong is its beautiful beaches that provide you an entertainment that suits your temperament. Some beaches are calm and soothing while some are full of activities like scuba diving, fishing, yachting and boating that provide you the joy of your life. You can take a speed boat of your choice that is equipped with fuel and water for your convenience during the ride.

These boats seem to be luxurious and comfortable just like a hotel room where you can have your own time enjoying the beauty of Andaman Sea, along with the food of your choice and can make coffee whenever you like. Yachting is another thrilling sport here and is admired by the people who are looking for an adventurous activity. Several festivals and tournaments are arranged on these beaches every year that attract the attention of tourists.

Apart from the hustle and bustle of Patong life there are multiple types of hotels and resorts for the accommodation of foreigners and tourists. The services they provide include variety in finest dining and lunch cuisine from international as well as Thai meals, swimming pools, fitness rooms, hot bath tubs, massage, library, kids rooms, internet facility, Jacuzzi, tennis courts and a lot. Depending upon your pocket and moods you can easily choose the hotel you would like to stay in because these hotels range from simple huts to the most lavish and extravagant lodges.

Shopping in Phuket market is no doubt an ideal experience that will introduce a profusion of different cultures, food, and other accessories. You can never have such experience unless you visit this market.

In a snap shot, Patong with its warm blue sea water and hospitable, comforting and fascinating atmosphere appeals you to come towards it and explore the marvelous beauty of life that no place on earth can offer you.
