The scenic beauty of the beaches of Patong has been marred by the vendors and hawkers present there. The beach is full of people renting jet-skis, ice-cream sellers, masseurs and tattoo makers. People can be seen sunbathing or idling their time under parasols.
For the food crazy people, Patong has a lot to offer. There is a huge variety of food to be tried and tasted. However the food is a bit expensive but it has a uniqueness of its own. There are numerous restaurants lined along the streets of the island each providing each having its own special dish. However, there are a lot more Italian restaurants compared to others.
One of the severe problems faced in this area is the stubbornness of the tuk-tuk drivers. Although there are a lot of honest and decent tuk-tuk drivers but a vast number of them are very arrogant with the tourists and they usually have a brawl with anyone who parks their vehicles in their parking lot. However the irony is that there has been no legal parking lot provided to them. The government has tried various means to curb the aggressive of these tuk-tuk drivers but it has not been successful.
To sum up, Patong is an ideal tourist spot with no dearth of fun and women.
