What’s Going On In Phuket? April 1st through April 12th

There’s a lot going on in Phuket this April for visitors, and residents alike. Whether you’re into big neighbourhood, or sports events, Thai national holidays, or cultural celebrations, there’s something for everyone this month in Phuket.
April 2nd through 5th, starting at 11:00 pm the 2nd through 2:00 pm on the 5th, is the 2009 Phuket Oilfield Classic Golf Tournament; those who sign up can play, and those who love to watch, can cheer for their favorite players from the sidelines.
April 3rd from 4:00 to 6:00 pm is the 2009 Laguna Phuket Sea Turtle Release Ceremony; visitors and residents alike can bid for a chance to release one of seventy baby sea turtles back into the wild.
April 4th from 6:30 to 10:00 pm is the Special BBQ Buffet Dinner, at the Wine Connection Chalong; for only 650 THB residents and visitors can enjoy a huge barbeque buffet, along with a cold cut buffet.
April 6th all is the Chakri Memorial Day, which is a public holiday; it celebrates the foundation of the Chakri dynasty, and Rama I, who established Bangkok as the country’s capital. It’s a day for picnics, and commemorating Thailand’s glorious history.
April 10th from 6:30 to 9:30 pm there will be a Wine Tasting event at Wine Connection Laguna; the event includes a buffet, and is 300 THB per person, but free for club members.
April 11th starting at 7:00 pm there is the “Happy Easter FREE Cool Jazz on a Hot Night” event, where the Jeff Donald International Jazz Band will hold a special all night musical celebration at the Town Square of the Royal Phuket Marina.
April 12th from 12:00 noon to 3:30 pm is the “Celebrate Easter with the Best Brunch in Phuket” event, at Puccini, Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket. There’ll be egg hunting activities for the kids, and wine, barbeque, and food for the adults; it’s 1,490 THB for grown-ups, and 745 THB for kids.
